Construction Progress Photos at the Reserves at Dakota Crossing & Fort Lincoln Multifamily Apartments.

The tower crane, a symbol most associated with developments downtown D.C. has made its way to Fort Lincoln, one of the fastest growing and most amazing communities in Northeast D.C. Once this final phase of construction is completed on Commodore Joshua Barney Drive it will bring nearly 600 new residents to the Fort Lincoln Community. The apartments are 85% market-rate and the townhomes are starting in the upper 500’s. Hopefully our friends at DDOT are making progress on our connection to the Anacostia River Trail because the apartments have a 1:1 parking ratio and the townhomes have 1-2 car garages.

Next Thursday I am partnering with Corinthian Contractors & CSOSA (Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency) to host on -the-spot interviews for upcoming projects in the District of Columbia.  This event is aimed at bringing Job Opportunities to District Residents closer to where they live. The event will be held from 3:00pm to 6:00pm in the Arizona-Cousins conference room at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church and are held on a first come first serve basis.  Positions are ready to be filled immediately.

Corinthian Contractors is looking for dedicated and hard working individuals who are ready to develop themselves as tradesmen and committed to growing their construction careers. Prior construction experience is a plus but is not a requirement.  There are limited positions available and no one person is guaranteed employment solely based on their place of residence.

Returning Citizens are welcome to apply but must be cleared through CSOSA.  To find out if you are eligible please contact Trina Stewart at 240-882-6226.  Individuals who are looking to make a fresh start and have an opportunity to rebuild their careers are encouraged to apply.

Please bring your resume and any certificates of training you may have.  Also be ready to not only represent yourself but to be an ambassador for all D.C. Residents. Let’s show that we have what it takes to not only make it to work on time but set the standard on what hard work and dedication is!

Hope to see you next Thursday!

The future of the Blog

As of December 3, 2014, I was officially elected the new ANC Commissioner of Fort Lincoln SMD 5C03.  I have decided to maintain this site as the primary vehicle for dispersing information to the community in lieu of maintaining two sites.

I have updated the look of the site and made it easier to navigate.  The menu bar is now on the top of the page to make it easier locate previous posts and features new tabs such as  “Looper’s World” where I  take my own ideas and visions and model them in 3D mostly for fun.

In closing, this site has and always will be privately paid for and maintained and any views or opinions expressed are my own.   As always, thanks for all of your support and I look forward to an exciting 2015!

Sincerely,

Robert Looper III, ANC Commissioner-Elect 5C03
