Due to an unfortunate death to someone close to me the field trip has been rescheduled. Details of the new date coming soon. Thank you.
Join ANC 5C03 along with the Capital Trails Coalition and WABA as we walk our proposed connection to the Anacostia River Trail. This connection has been a “long time coming”and will provide a vital transportation alternative for residents of Ward 5. I will post another article on the background of the project and how we got to where we are today. DDOT under Mayor Bowser’s administration has done a tremendous job responding to the disparity of transit alternatives in the community. DDOT has assigned a consultant for the environmental assessment which brings us another step closer to this becoming a reality.
Please note that this is a walking tour, and is not yet accessible by bicycle. However, you can secure your bike at the meet up location.

Next Thursday I am partnering with Corinthian Contractors & CSOSA (Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency) to host on -the-spot interviews for upcoming projects in the District of Columbia. This event is aimed at bringing Job Opportunities to District Residents closer to where they live. The event will be held from 3:00pm to 6:00pm in the Arizona-Cousins conference room at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church and are held on a first come first serve basis. Positions are ready to be filled immediately.
Corinthian Contractors is looking for dedicated and hard working individuals who are ready to develop themselves as tradesmen and committed to growing their construction careers. Prior construction experience is a plus but is not a requirement. There are limited positions available and no one person is guaranteed employment solely based on their place of residence.
Returning Citizens are welcome to apply but must be cleared through CSOSA. To find out if you are eligible please contact Trina Stewart at 240-882-6226. Individuals who are looking to make a fresh start and have an opportunity to rebuild their careers are encouraged to apply.
Please bring your resume and any certificates of training you may have. Also be ready to not only represent yourself but to be an ambassador for all D.C. Residents. Let’s show that we have what it takes to not only make it to work on time but set the standard on what hard work and dedication is!
Hope to see you next Thursday!
After a lot of deliberation, I have decided to complete the Nomination Application for ANC Commissioner for Fort Lincoln! We need swift resolution to a plethora of issues as well as planning initiatives with several city departments. It takes a certain level of competence to work through the complex issues, passion for Fort Lincoln to bring closure to long standing problems and the willingness to listen and work with our residents whether you are a Senior, a long time resident or new to the community. I am ready to take this challenge head-on and start to bring the significant yet gradual change to residents of Fort Lincoln. We deserve the same level of Respect, Attentiveness, and Amenities as any other neighborhood in the city and I will demand it from our City Officials. I have what it takes to facilitate, organize, and execute these issues and I need your help to get it done. I will be going door to door in the next few days, respectfully requesting your signature to run for the next ANC Commissioner for Fort Lincoln ANC 5C03.
Together we can stop the cycle of prolonged excuses and make Fort Lincoln the example of what a great community should be!
